About Us

The IoT Initiative is a joint effort by a number of organisations from within the University of Edinburgh, including Information Services, the School of Informatics, and Corporate Services. It is supported by City of Edinburgh Council and several private sector organisations.

• IoT Programme Board

  The Programme Board is responsible for overseeing the University’s IoT Programme and for giving consideration and guidance regarding programme implementation activities and projects, ensuring these deliver against the IoT Programme Strategy.

• IoT Action Groups

  The IoT Initiative is multi-disciplinary and is being delivered with expertise and oversight drawn from across the University through a number of focused Action Groups:

  • Security and Privacy
  • Governance and Ethics
  • Marketing and Engagement
  • Teaching and Learning

• Coordination Group

  The Coordination Group (CoG) undertakes informal knowledge-sharing and monitoring of the Action Groups.

• Informatics IoT Research

  The School of Informatics has established an internal IoT Research Programme to coordinate relevant activities. The Programme is led by Paul Patras and Rik Sarkar.
